The purchasing environment within the state and within the university is complex and dynamic. Understanding the ‘rules’, why the ‘rules’ are the way they are and the best paths to take for procurement is essential in Information Technology. This session by UI purchasing experts will cover information about the current Procurement climate in the State, the Illinois Procurement Code and how the University interprets and complies with the code, and advice about when and how to use various purchasing tools such as iBuy catalog vendors, Request for Proposals or Invitation for Bids, and P-Cards.
