Mike McCluskey will speak to the Windows I/O tax that generates numerous, small Write I/Os which are then subsequently amplified by the I/O blender effect. Mike will discuss how many organizations immediately default to Flash/SSDs (or more spindles) to try and solve the problem, while not addressing the root cause. He will then finish with a high level discussion how Condusiv’s I/O reduction software solves the root cause issue, share customer examples and detailed results from a specific IT installation at the University of Illinois.
