We plan for many things at work, both tactically and strategically, but do we give the same kind of attention to our careers? We’ll discuss different aspects of intentional career planning and walk through doing a Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats (SWOT) analysis to aid in that process. This presentation will focus on preparing to move to leadership roles.

Learning Outcome:
This program will be a participatory discussion to encourage participants to be more intentional about their careers. The program will start with general questions that an individual can ask themselves to assess where they are professionally and where they would like to go professionally. We’ll move on to introducing the Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats (SWOT) analysis tool and walk participants through how they could apply it to their career. Finally, we’ll move on to actions they can pursue to address what they discover about themselves.
This program has been delivered before at IT Pro Forum. This version will be updated with a focus on interest in pursuing leadership roles.
