Recognition, Power, and Equity in IT Work

How do we decide who gets recognized for a team’s success? What happens when contributions go unnoticed?

In this session, we’ll explore how credit and recognition function as power in IT workplaces and discuss the impact that uneven recognition can have on team members. Drawing on research and real-world experiences, we’ll create space for conversation about how under-recognition can affect colleagues across different identities and career stages. Participants will leave with practical ideas for sharing credit more intentionally and strengthening inclusive team cultures.
