    The theme of the forum, “Network, Plug In, Upload”, centers around three core tracks of the IT Professional Forum and provides a venue to connect, learn, and share.

      • START myResearch; Supporting Research by Leveraging Kuali Coeus Open Source Software and PI Portal

        START (Systemwide Tools for Administration of Research and Training) is the implementation of Kuali Coeus (KC) open source software for grants management and myResearch is the Principal Investigator (PI) portal that will integrate and display information from a number of different university systems, giving faculty access to the information they need to prepare, submit, route, and manage their grants.

      • Building Database-Driven Applications (When You’re Not a Programmer)

        This session shows would-be programmers how to get started building a database-driven application, the component parts needed, (free!) resources available to help you from start to finish, and things to plan for. CITES CCME will use its own scheduling tool as an example of an in-house database-driven application that anyone could make, regardless of how novice a programmer.

      • IBM Endpoint Management – How to Get Up and Running

      • Strategy for Every Level

      • Talking IT to Non-Technical Audiences

        IT Pros frequently must explain technical topics to non-technical people. Whether announcing maintenance, training customers, or marketing services, there are ways to make technology more understandable. CITES CCO Brian Mertz will share strategies and techniques to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences. Participants are invited to bring technical topics or projects that they would like help explaining to non-technical audiences.

      • Event Registration, Online Payment, and Workflow Through FormBuilder

        FormBuilder is an enterprise application supported jointly by AITS and ATLAS. This presentation will give a high level general overview of the application and a description of its functionality as a lightweight workflow tool and event registration/online payment application.       • Facilitating Meetings and Stimulating Debate Using the Six Thinking Hats Method

        We have all struggled with poorly facilitated meetings and discussions, where one person dominates discussion. Or people argue over trivial things, losing sight of the need to debate central, critical issues. Having a framework for facilitation allows us to facilitate meetings more effectively. Frameworks like de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats provides a good way to facilitate and guide discussion.

      • Making Collaboration Ubiquitous Through the Redesign of Underutilized Student Spaces

        The Student Collaboration Spaces project was created to identify 2 to 5 underutilized public spaces across campus and develop each space into comfortable and supportive collaboration spaces with appropriate seating, desktop space, decor, electricity and technology sufficient for study, homework, research or group activities.       • Tricks of the Trade for Project Management
